Elizabeth Olmsted Teisberg, co-author of Redefining Health Care: Creating Value-Based Competition on Results, in an interview on the television show Books of Our Time with host Lawrence R. Velvel the dean of the Massachusetts School of Law discussed the major myth of the value of modern health care. Teisberg states that health care treatments are not equal; distinguished only by cost and thus the focus on cost reduction is unfounded. Teisberg suggests a direct connection between the level of care one receives to the place of diagnosis and treatment.
